What was the reason you started working for the federal government? In today's environment why did you go to college? To answer the 1st question was the benefits the federal service offered. The 2nd question can be answered by the fact that college degrees offer more money.
In today's environment those standards are in jeopardy and we need someone to stand strong in the face of danger of losing your benefits or good wage.
That is why we ask you to join NARFE

Attention: IRS

Enclosed is my 2001 tax return & payment. Please take note of the attached article from USA Today newspaper. In the article, you will see that the Pentagon is paying $171.50 for hammers and NASA has paid $600.00 for a toilet seat.
Please find enclosed four toilet seats (value $2400) and six hammers (value $1029). This brings my total payment to $3429.00. Please note the overpayment of $22.00 and apply it to the "Presidential Election Fund," as noted on my return. Might I suggest you the send the above mentioned fund a 1.5 inch screw." (See attached article...HUD paid $22.00 for a 1.5 inch phillips head screw.)
It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.

    Sincerely,

    A satisfied taxpayer.

Crittenden County Local Chapter 1373 News

7/17/2009 - We had a good attendance at our monthly meeting at the Marion Cafe. Our Main discussion was on the topic of NARFE dues. There is a National referendum that will increase the dues to $40.00 from $33.00. At present each chapter receives $3.00 per year from each member to run their local chapter the referendum will increase that $3.00 to $9.00 for each local chapter.
At our next meeting of Local 1373 we will be having a discussion on Western Kentucky's Narfe, "Lunch and Learn" program and how we as a chapter can benefit and get the word out to federal employees in our community about the program.
We will encourage our retired federal employees to get online and save local chapters the cost of snail mail business.
