Who are the flowers trying to impress?
Why would I ask such a question?
They have color for a reason, are they trying
to catch someone's eye?

Before the telephone and the Internet there was a publishing system.
A pecking order type of system where other human beings would review your
work and deem it suitable or not suitable for publication. It does not
work very well because the review process is flawed by bias. This well-established
system is still functioning and it is thumbs up or thumbs down for anyone
placing their work into their hands.
There are reviews online of published works so you may get a general
idea of how the system works.
The Internet has provided another solution. You or I can pay a provider
for space on the Internet. We can publish our work there.
If you publish for money then maybe it is not for you, but if you publish
just to get the word out then the Internet is for you.
If you are raising a family do not depend on the Internet for an allowance
or paycheck.
The Internet provides a historical view of the general population.
Each individual can place his or her family's history online. Whether this
is a good idea or not is immaterial the fact that it is done provides a
tremendous historical database of information.
The world is trying to lasso the Internet, control or harness the power
that is provided to each individual.
I know many people that cannot fathom the idea of moving their minds
online.
As Laurel says, "You make a fool of yourself or embarrass yourself,
I am not going to do that!"
As I says, "If you do not say what you think then how is the world
going to know what you create, think or want?"
